Darrell was born on February 18, 1956 in Mattoon, IL to Robert Lee and Eileen Betty (Tipsword) Reed. He married Pattie K. Sample on June 11, 1977 in Chillicothe.
Surviving are his wife, Pattie; his daughters, Amber Reed and Bobbi Reed, both of Chillicothe; his siblings, Bev (JR) Crose, Victor (Donna) Reed, Mike Spencer, Junior (Mary Spencer, and Lori Lane, all of Chillicothe; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jimmy Spencer.
Darrell served in the U.S. Army and then became a meat cutter and clerk for Kroger's Meat Department for 27 years.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2024 from 1pm to 5pm at the Peoria Casting Club in Chillicothe. Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
