Darrell Lynn Williams, 53, passed away unexpectedly in his Seymour home Tuesday, February 18, 2025. He was born in Kreuznach, Germany on November 23, 1971, to Hugh Duane and Dona Deane (Wienhorst) Williams.
Darrell graduated from Seymour High School, where he ran track, and then entered the United States Navy, where he proudly served for seven years. His military service included the Persian Gulf War, Operation Desert Storm, and a tour in Somalia. His many decorations included the Navy Achievement Medal and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. After an honorable discharge, Darrell went on to earn his bachelor's degree in information technology from Purdue University. He had a very successful career in information technology across many industries. Darrell also enjoyed basketball, golf, hunting and fishing. He is remembered as being the life of the party the minute he walked into a room, the type of man people just liked to be around. Darrell was very giving and would do anything for anyone. He will be greatly missed by the many people who loved him.
Left behind to cherish Darrell's memory are his wife, Angela (Burgett) Williams; parents, Duane and Dona Williams; sons, Garrett Williams and twins Devin and Gavin Williams; brother, Ryan (Kelly) Williams; daughters by marriage, Lauren Baum and Kirsten Prewitt; granddaughter by marriage, Viviana Baum; aunts, Stacy (Joe) Brooks and Rhonda (Brad) Pardieck; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Pete and Nancy Williams, and Bernie and Marlene Wienhorst.
Funeral services for Darrell will be Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Voss and Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 316 North Chestnut Street, Seymour. Pastor Jeffrey Stuckwisch and Pastor Bradley Akey of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Darrell will be laid to rest with full military honors immediately following at Riverview Cemetery.

So very sorry for the Williams family, especially his wife, children and parents. We taught Sunday School to Garrett Williams and twins Devin and Gavin Williams when they were in 7th grade at Advent Lutheran Church, Zionsville. Darrell's three sons were always so respectful and attentive during class, and we enjoyed their sense of humor. The spirited debates between the twins, Devin and Gavin was often the highlight of our Sunday morning discussions. We pray that family would be comforted with the knowledge that the Lord is always close to the brokenhearted. May the scriptures in John 11 give all of you hope and comfort.

Dona & Duane, We know your hearts are so heavy with grief that seems impossible to bear. No one ever wants to lose a child, no matter how old. Please know you, your other children and grandchildren, Rhonda & Stacey & their families as well as the Williams´ families will be in our hearts and prayers as you all mourn this sudden loss. We hope the days of joy you spent together will become upper most in your heart in the days ahead. We wish we would have had the chance to know him; it sounds like he put a lot of living in the short time he was on the earth. Hugs and prayers, Jan & Tom Sinn
