Mr. Darren Alford Sr. (61) passed away Monday, February 13, 2023, after a brief illness. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Darren managed his illness with strength and grace until the end. Darren was born on August 22, 1961, to the late Ronald and Corrine Alford in Bay City, Michigan. He grew up in Standish Michigan, having fun with his brother, cousins, and neighborhood friends He graduated from Standish Sterling high school in 1980 and began working and cultivating his love for the outdoors and music. When he wasn't fishing or hunting, you could find him playing a variety of musical instruments including the guitar, drums, and harmonica. His love for both the outdoors and music lasted right up until his passing.
He is survived by his sons Darren (Beth) Alford Jr of Saginaw, Michigan and Wyatt Arkwood of Mikado, Michigan and daughters Sherrie Alford of Bay City, Michigan and Faith Ballard of Detroit, Michigan, and six grandchildren, Gavin, Danny, Matthew, Grace, Molly, and Cannon.
The funeral service will be held at Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home – Standish Chapel on Saturday, February 18, 2022, at 2:00pm. There will be visitation at the same location beginning at 12:00pm. Darren's family will be present and welcome loved ones.
