Darren Paul McPheeters

March 13, 1961 - June 29, 2025

Darren passed away on June 29, 2025, due to complications following a motorcycle accident. He was 64 years old. Though he faced many personal battles throughout his life, it brings peace to know that his passing was not the result of those struggles, but an unexpected accident. Though he wrestled with personal demons, he took pride in being a father. He did his best with the tools he had and, even in estranged relationships, carried quiet hopes for healing and connection.

Darren was a man who lived life on his own terms. While his relationships with family were not always steady, he had an undeniable gift for making friends everywhere he went. With a mischievous smile and a never-ending supply of corny jokes, he could make anyone laugh-even if it was through a groan and an eye-roll.

He was not a perfect man, but he was real. He wrestled with demons that shaped much of his life, yet beneath that was a father who tried in his own way. He carried pride for his daughters and found meaning in the moments when he could show up for them.

Darren is survived by his daughters Candice Catalano (Prestidge, McPheeters) and her husband Eric Catalano, Hailee Prestidge (McPheeters), and Valentine Brown (McPheeters) and her husband Frank Brown. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Harlow Prestidge, Mason Catalano, Kalea Joan Catalano, Lilyann Brown, Kael Brown, and Raelynn Brown and his sisters: Kathleen Shinn and Laura Christine Ferguson.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Delilah Brown; his sister, Susan Marie Cleverdon (McPheeters); his mother, Bonnie Lou Ferguson (Bodelson); and his father, Paul Allen McPheeters.

Darren will be remembered for his goofy laugh, offbeat humor, restless spirit, and the way he made even strangers feel like old friends. His story is one of humanity-flawed, complicated, and full of heart.

A private memorial will be held to celebrate Darren's life and the memories he leaves behind. In honor of his spirit and story, the family encourages donations to organizations supporting motorcycle safety or addiction recovery.
