Paulette Louise Day, known affectionately to her friends and family as Paula, was called to her heavenly home on November 1, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on January 11, 1948, in the warmth of Bakersfield, California, Paula led a life that was a testament to her adventurous spirit, her unwavering faith, and her selfless nature. Paula's journey through life was shared with her devoted husband of 35 years, Gary Day, who stood by her side as a beacon of love and support. Together, they created a family grounded in love and Christian values. She was a nurturing mother to her children, Karen Epperson, Kathy Holman, and Jeff Bruce, and an adoring mother-in-law to Ed Holman and Tammy Bruce. Her legacy continued to blossom through her grandchildren, Edward and Jaime Holman, Shawn and Tamara Holman, and Tonie Minnick, as well as Brandon Minnick Jr., Jason Allen Jr., and Jarrod Epperson, Nadia Bruce, n Jeffery Bruce,. Paula was also blessed with great-grandchildren, David Peaker III, Clayton Holman, Christopher Bruce, Gage Holman, Seth Holt, and Connor Holman, and she held a special place in her heart for her only great-great-grandchild, Aurora Peaker. Paula's commitment to education and helping others was evident in her successful completion of high school and her subsequent training at Medical Assistant School. Her career in the medical field was more than a job; it was a calling. Paula's compassionate heart led her to care for others with a gentle hand and a warm smile, embodying the love of Christ in every interaction. Her Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life. She lived by the words of Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." This verse was not merely a quote for Paula but a daily practice. She drew strength from her faith and inspired those around her to do the same, living out her beliefs through her actions and unwavering trust in God's plan. Paula's love for life extended to her many interests. She found peace and joy in tending to her garden alongside her youngest daughter Karen, cultivating not just plants but cherished memories. Her bond with her oldest daughter, Kathy, was strengthened through their daily phone calls, where they shared laughter and companionship, even when miles apart. Paula's son, Jeff, who lived in another state, was a frequent visitor, and their moments together were treasured. Creativity flowed through Paula's veins, and she expressed it through her love of crafts. Many afternoons were spent with her granddaughter, Tonie Minnick, and her best friend, Sandie, as they brought beauty into the world with their hands and hearts. Paula's journey through life was marked by her selflessness. She was the embodiment of a servant's heart, always placing the needs of others above her own. Her adventurous spirit led her to embrace every moment with courage and enthusiasm, while her faith-filled life served as a guiding light to all who knew her. As we celebrate Paula's life and legacy, we remember her not just for what she did but for who she was a woman of strength, love, and unwavering faith. Her memory will continue to inspire us to live life to the fullest, to care deeply for our families, and to walk in faith every day. Paula's life reminds us that with God, all things are possible, and that the most profound impact we can make is through love and service to others. Let us hold fast to her example and carry her spirit forward in all that we do.
