Darryl Bakos Obituary

Darryl R. Bakos

Born to eternal life on Friday, August 1, 2025 at age 67 years. Beloved husband of Debbie Schultz for 34 years. Dear father of Jenna (Brett) Ewald, Stephanie (Nik) Vukovich, and Michael Bakos. Cherished grandfather of Kyran, Keira, Klaire, Seth, and Caleb. Loving brother of Suzann Piquette and Rick (April) Bakos. Further survived by nephews Uriah and Vance Bakos. He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and JoAnn Bakos.

Darryl spent most of his career working in the automotive industry. He, as they say, could sell ice to an Eskimo. His infectious smile and goofy side afforded him the great ability to connect with people, making him particularly good at his job. Prior to starting in the car business, Darryl was drawn to helping his country by joining the Air Force. Unfortunately, he was honorably discharged due to an injury during basic training. Above all, Darryl was a simple, hardworking man who took pride in taking care of and spending time with his family.

Darryl was an avid golfer. He especially enjoyed sharing the love of the game with his friend Billy and brother Ricky. Darryl was a sports enthusiast, watching everything between football and baseball, especially with his long-time friend Bobby. Darryl was a very involved grandpa. He attended their sports games and recitals as often as he could. Grandparents' Day at school was a particular favorite of his to be present at. He was truly a kid at heart!

One of the things Darryl's family will miss the most about him are his hugs; to receive one, was to know you were truly loved. The family is honoring Darryl's wishes with a private gathering where they will reminisce the good times.
