Darryl Hintz Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Darryl Lee Hintz passed away on June 17, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on January 14, 1954, Darryl lived a life defined by independence, humor, and a deep, unspoken loyalty to the people he cared about.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rela Hintz; his son, Dale Johnson; and his parents, Maxine Kjorsvik and Floyd Hintz. He carried their memories with quiet strength and never let go of the love he held for them.
Darryl is survived by his children Nicole Trombly, Sean Hintz, and Amber Baig; and by his grandchildren: Carrie Hintz, Chloe Hintz, Ilse Hintz, Dylan Trombly, Everly Hintz, and Hayden Hintz. He cared about each of them in his own way-fiercely, if not always openly-and his memory will live on through their lives and laughter.
He was a proud man of Chippewa descent, and that strength-steady, grounded, enduring-ran through everything he did. Darryl had the soul of a lone wolf, never one to follow the crowd, and never much for fuss. But beneath his independence was a man who felt deeply, and who carried more tenderness than he ever let on.
Known by some as "Elvis," Darryl had a charm all his own. His quick wit, dry humor, and ability to make people laugh without trying were unforgettable. He could turn silence into comfort, and sarcasm into affection. He didn't need to say much to make an impression.
He was a man of contradictions-reserved, yet funny; distant, yet loyal. His care ran deep, even when it came in sideways glances and gruff words. His presence might have been quiet, but the impression he left was lasting.
Darryl Lee Hintz was many things: a father, a grandfather, a son, a brother, a veteran of life's harder lessons. He left behind more than memories-he left behind stories, humor, and the undeniable trace of a man who lived life on his own terms.
