He was preceded in death by his father, Donald L. Parker, Sr., mother, Iva Pearl Parker and his brother, Donald L. Parker, Jr. He is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela S. Parker, brother-in-law, Darrel Sprayberry, daughter, Amber and her welcomed and well-loved boyfriend, Lock; daughter, Sommer and husband, Kevan, along with 4 Grandchildren, Chandler, Julian, Emma, and Shealynn, special nephew, Cameron and wife Sean, and great nephews, JT and Josh and his loving ex-wife, Sherri, mother-in-law, JoAnne Sprayberry.
Darryl was born on Moody Airforce base in Valdosta, Georgia on August 29, 1955. The son of a career military man, he had opportunities to experience life from overseas ports including the Philippines, and many parts of the U.S., including Virginia and Dover, Delaware where, in school, he excelled in track and multiple other sports.
When landing back in Georgia, he graduated from North Clayton High School in 1974.
In his youth Darryl enjoyed hunting and camping with his best friend Doug Waddell. In his heyday Darryl enjoyed a regular, rigorous afternoon round of golf, as often as possible, and in later years he enjoyed even more just watching golf on TV along with many other sports. He took pride in maintaining his vehicles in peak running conditions, and he took meticulous care in keeping his showroom clean, polished, and perfect.
At the age of 18 Darryl took up a career in logistics, a field he pursued through several companies, in which he demonstrated expertise until his retirement from Hartsfield Warehouse at the end of 2022. Following that life change, Darryl relaxed into loving his home in the country, watching his games and detailing his cars.
Always at his side was his wife of thirty years, Pamela Parker. These two met in 1991 while both working at the Atlanta Airport and were happily married in 1996. They doted on each other, enjoying a sweet and happy life of similar interest, most of which involved holding hands, country living, and road trips to the beach and the lakeside.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Followed by a celebration of his life in the chapel.
