Jacqueline Kay (Jacque) Mitchell, 72, of Villa Rica departed this life on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at home surrounded by family.

Jacque was born August 4, 1953 in Savannah, GA, the daughter of the late Jack A. Blackwell and the late Ivy Waldhour Blackwell. She graduated North Clayton High School in 1971 and received an Associate's Degree in Computer Science. Jacque pursued several different careers including working for the FBI. After retiring she spent most of her time making quilts for the Masonic Children's Home in Macon, GA. However, her most passionate contribution was the Backpack Buddies Program. This organization sends backpacks home to under privileged children whom otherwise, would not have food to eat on the weekends. This act of kindness demonstrates her caring heart to help others.

In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her son, David Garland.

Jacque is survived by her son, Christopher "Chris" Garland of Dallas, GA, brother, Barry L. (Tia) Blackwell of Villa Rica, GA, sister, Marsha VanHorn of Ellabell, GA, nephews, Jason (Angela) Deyton, Jacob (Dawn) Blackwell, Jeremy (Melanie) Korfhage, niece, Andrea (Jonathon) Martin, four great nieces, four great nephews, many cousins and other family members.

The family will have a Private Memorial at a later date. The family request everyone to sign the guest book and share a favorite memory of their beloved Jacque.

The family would like to express a thank you to the many workers who have helped to care for Jacque whom we have all came to love during her illness. Your help during this time of need was very much appreciated.

The family request in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in Jacque memory to the Backpack Buddies Program, www.backpackbuddiesga.org, 96 Werz Industrial Blvd., Newnan, GA. 30263
