Marjorie "Margie" Leigh Scott, age 56, of Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. Born on May 13, 1969, in Atlanta, she was the beloved daughter of the late Larry Scott and Martha Arnold Scott.
A proud 1987 graduate of North Clayton High School, Margie was a woman of many gifts and boundless creativity. She pursued a variety of careers throughout her life, most recently working as a dedicated and compassionate realtor. Margie had a heart for creating beauty, whether through crafting, painting, baking, or designing jewelry. Her talents brought joy not only to her but to everyone who was fortunate enough to receive one of her handmade treasures.
Margie had an unwavering love for animals, and her home was always a haven for her furry companions. But above all else, her greatest joy and source of pride was her son, Riley. He was truly the center of her world, and her love for him knew no bounds.
She is survived by her cherished son, Riley Pierce Deaver; her devoted sisters and brothers-in-law, Laura and Craig Culley, and Melissa and Rafael Arista; her loving brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Hillary Scott; six nephews; one niece; her lifelong friends and caregivers, Gale and Jeff Phillips; and her beloved fur baby, Boomer, who remained faithfully by her side.
A service to celebrate Margie's life will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home, with Minister Caryl Strange officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jeffery Thomason, Zeke Scott, Mark Scott, Craig Culley, Luke Harris, and Cole Culley.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 PM until the service hour.
