Lillie Wilson, age 71, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. She was born on March 20, 1954, the daughter of the late Junior Clark and Mildred Alexander Satterwhite.
Miss Lillie had a gift for making everyone feel seen, loved, and cared for. She attended Carver High School and later retired from Carroll County Schools, where she served faithfully as head of custodial services. Even after retirement, her strong work ethic and generous spirit led her to continue serving others at Mill Town Music Hall and Good Neighbor, where she shared her extraordinary talents as a cook and baker. Her peach cobbler was famous in the community - warm, sweet, and comforting, much like the woman who made it.
She was a devoted member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, where she joyfully served as an usher and proudly referred to herself as the head of the hospitality committee. Whether she was greeting guests with a smile, feeding a crowd, or lending a helping hand, Miss Lillie's kindness shone through in everything she did.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Wilson, and her youngest daughter, Dedrick Wilson.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her daughters & son-in-law, Tina Wilson & Reginald Mitchell, and Vonita Wilson; grandchildren, Marcellious Almon, Briana Dempsey and her husband, Sean, Flavia Phillips, Martex Hudson, and Samaria Anderson; great-grandchildren, Kyron Almon, K'mora Dempsey, K'myiah Dempsey, Kallie Dempsey, and My'arah Joseph; brothers, Glenn Satterwhite and Stanley Satterwhite; her beloved aunt, Silvia Satterwhite; and her dear friend and confidant, Josh McCorsley, who stood by her side through thick and thin.
Her family and friends will gather to celebrate her life and the joy she brought to those around her. A wake will be held at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
A Homegoing Celebration will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church, with Pastor C.L. Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Carrollton City Cemetery. The staff of Good Neighbor will be seated as honorary pallbearers.
Messages of condolence may be shared with the family at www.martin-hightower.com. Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel is honored to serve the Wilson family during this time of remembrance.
