Mrs. Verne E. Bishop, age 79, of Wedowee, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2025. She was born on October 8, 1946, in Abilene, Texas, the daughter of the late Jack Gilbert Eppler and Willie May Adams Eppler.
Verne was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose life was centered around her family. She took great pride in her home and had a gift for creating beauty wherever she went. Whether through her paintings, intricate stained-glass creations, or her music on the piano, she poured love and creativity into everything she did. She also found joy and peace in tending her garden, where her green thumb and gentle spirit were always on display.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tommy Lynn Bishop, and her sister, Feather Hurn.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of those she loved most: her daughter and son-in-law, Brandi and Tim Tinney; her son and daughter-in-law, T.J. and Mindy Bishop; grandchildren, Alexius Bishop Jakstas, Haleigh Tinney, Levi Tinney, Christian Tinney, and Aiden Tinney; great-grandchild, Emersyn Jakstas; sister, Jacquelynn E. Keltner; and brother, William Eppler.
A graveside service celebrating Verne's life will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Consolation Baptist Church Cemetery, with Pastor Tim Cantrell officiating.
