Darryl Dean Steeve was born on September 10, 1964, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Larry and Linda Steeve. He passed away at his home in Lenox, Iowa, on August 30, 2025, at the age of 60.
Darryl grew up in Indianola, Iowa, where he graduated from Indianola High School in 1983. He was an active wrestler during his school years. Darryl loved spending time with family, especially on deer hunting trips to Corning with his uncle Lyle. He enjoyed many outdoor activities, including fishing, camping, and spending weekends at Sun Valley Lake with his dad.
Darryl was known for his bright smile and sense of humor. He had a talent for making people laugh and always made the most of life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lucinda's son, Shane Barnes, and other family members and friends.
Darryl is survived by his brother Richard (Shelly) Steeve of Indianola, Iowa, his niece Courtney Steeve, his nephew Paul Steeve, and many cousins including Dan (Brenda) Steeve of Corning, Iowa, Ryan (Robin) Crenshaw of Afton, Iowa and Nick Crenshaw of Osceola, Iowa. He is also survived by his long-time friend and partner, Lucinda Barnes of Lenox, and her daughter Mandee Barnes and granddaughter Torri Lawrence.
Darryl will be remembered for his joyful spirit and the love he shared with those around him.
