A TIME TO BE BORN: Daryl Bennett Walker, Sr.'s life journey began Thursday, April 28, 1949. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, to Clarence Bennett Walker and Florence C. (Lopez) Walker.
A TIME TO LIVE: Daryl attended Linden McKinely High School. He excelled in all sports, with track being his favorite. His nickname was "Speedy." Daryl was employed, for many years, at the Timken Company, Tomasco Mulciber Inc., and most recently, Reliant Capital Solutions.
A TIME TO LOVE: Daryl was the father of Yolanda Hart, Darron Houston, Darlene Walker, and Delfont Springs. On June 20, 1984, Daryl married the apple of his eye, Della Boyer, and took on the role of father to January Angel. Daryl and Della were later blessed with a son, Daryl Bennett Walker II.
Daryl took pride in his body and his health. He was a professional bowler. Over the years, he bowled in various leagues. Christmas was his favorite time of the year. Daryl enjoyed spending time with his family and loved to shower them with gifts, especially to his grandchildren. He had a giving heart to all those who knew him. Daryl also served as a father figure to his nieces and nephews, guiding them as best he could. They looked up to their Uncle Daryl.
A TIME TO DEPART: Daryl B. Walker, Sr. flew softly into the arms of God on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. He was seventy-five years of age. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Bennett Walker; mother, Florence C. (Lopez) Perkins; brother, Luis Perkins; and sisters, Leondra Lawrence, Florencia Walker, and Juana Johnson.
Daryl is survived by wife of forty years, Della Walker; daughters, Yolanda (Stephen) Hart and Darlene Walker; sons, Darron Houston, Daryl Bennett Walker II, Delfont (Latasha) Springs; stepdaughter, January Angel; grandsons, Stevonté Hart, Allen Austin, Japhron Chapman Jr., Jamel Chapmen, Daryl Walker III, Jarod Reed, Samir Williams-Walker, Arjai Burress, Daman Reed, Naithan Hagan, Rayshawn Springs, and Richard Springs; granddaughters, Jayonna McElroy, Desiree Diggs, Diamyn Foster, Janelle Chapman, Darionna Walker, Sarinity Walker, Angeline Williams-Walker, Niaja Springs, and Aaliyah Lemons; sister, Tanya (Joseph) Edwards; brother, Umar (Candice) Khidi; best friend, Peter Davis; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and dear friends.
