Daryl Dwayne Yoder, a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, passed away July 6, 2024. Daryl was the son of Robert Yoder and Clara Keener. Daryl was born in Cook, Illinois on January 27, 1962.
At the age of 18, Daryl enlisted in the U.S. Army as a combat Engineer. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of sergeant. He served for many years, before receiving a honorable discharge.
As part of his service, Daryl served 2 tours in a designated imminent danger area within Afghanistan. His awards are as follows: Army Achievement Medal, Nato Metal, Army Good Conduct Metal (2nd award), National Defense Service Metal, Global War on Terrorism Service Metal, and Army Service Award.
Daryl is survived by his fiancé, Tammy Bruce and the many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren she shared with him; son, Daryl (Hayley) Dwayne Yoder Jr.; grandchildren, Corbin, Oaklyn; daughters, April Michelle and Angela Michelle; brothers, Raymond (Christy) Yoder and Timothy Yoder; sister, Becky (Donnie) Mills; half-brothers, Jasen and Jamiey Houser; and half-sister, Jennifer Slinger.
Daryl loved ones will remember him for his stalwart take on life and loving personality.
Graveside service 10:00 am Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery with military honors provided by V.F.W. Post #5266. The family will receive friends 5:00 - 7:00 pm Monday, July 15, at Fielden Funeral Home in New Market. Fielden Funeral Home is honored to serve the Yoder Family.
