David M. Bacca, 83, of Bantam, CT, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at the Cherry Brook Health Care Center. Dave was the beloved husband of Laura Bacca for 59 wonderful years.
Born on November 1, 1938, in Worcester, MA, Dave was the son of the late Mary and Michael Bacca. Dave graduated from Torrington High School, attended the Ward School of Business and the University of Hartford.
He was employed for 30 years at CIGNA in Bloomfield as a computer programmer in the Group Insurance Division. Dave was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed golf and played in the retiree league at Eastwoods Golf Club.
Dave's favorite sport was running, and he participated in the local races as well as the marathons in NYC, Boston, and Newport, RI, with Laura cheering him on to the finish.
Dave and Laura enjoyed several trips, each year to the beaches of Kennebunkport and Ogunquit, Maine; hiking the White Mountains of New Hampshire, and cross-country skiing in Stowe, Vermont.
In addition to Laura, Dave is survived by a brother, Richard, and his wife Susan; sister-in-law Joyce Putnoki, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Raymond, Jerome, and Robert.
Private services will be held at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, followed by burial at Hillside Cemetery in Torrington.
