It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David F. Baldeschwiler who passed away peacefully on Monday, September 29, 2025 at the age of 76. He was born on December 6, 1948, in Corpus Christi, TX.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marianne; his children, Amy Hernandez (Rudy), Julie Barrera (Carlos), & Kyle Baldeschwiler (Jessica); Grandchildren, Jordan Hernandez, Justin Hernandez, Jacob Hernandez, Emily Barrera, and Zoey Barrera. Brothers: Pat Baldeschwiler (Wanda), Matt Baldeschwiler (Rania), Sisters: Margie Schubert (Chris), Peggy Baldeschwiler, Mary K Hill, and Virginia Osorio (Dagoberto). He is preceded in death by his parents, Mathias F. Baldeschwiler and Caroline Rachal Baldeschwiler, and brother-in-law Gary Hill.

David graduated from Corpus Christi Academy in 1967, then went on to earn his BA degree at St. Mary's University in 1974. He went on to teach & coach at Hamlin Junior High, King High School and Baker Middle School. He was a dedicated teacher & coach who touched the lives of countless students and athletes.

He will be remembered through his great detailed stories, conversations, the love for his family, his dedication to his faith, and his devoted passion for the game of baseball. He was especially known for his outgoing personality, as he made sure, he did not know a stranger.

His greatest accomplishments (besides his children) were pitching 2 perfect games, one at Corpus Christi Academy and one at St Mary's University along with pitching a no hitter against the University of Texas.

After retiring, his dream job was ushering for the Corpus Christi Hooks. He could watch the game he loved while also teaching others about the game.

Family and friends are invited to honor his life on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 5 pm with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. the same evening. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius X Church on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Rudy Hernandez, Jeremy Hill, Carlos Barrera, Robert Grobe Jr, David Grobe, Dagoberto Osorio, Chris Schubert and Billy Hewlett. Honorary pallbearers are Justin Hernandez and Jacob Hernandez.
