David Edward Barfield, 55, born on January 25, 1970, in Sylvester, Georgia, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, at his residence in Tifton, Georgia. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, remembered for his indomitable spirit and the joy he brought to those around him.
As per his wishes, David will be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date
Professionally, David dedicated his life to plumbing, where he exhibited not only skill but also a commitment to quality work that earned him the respect of his peers and clients alike. His craft was a source of pride, reflecting his passion for helping others and improving their daily lives through reliable service.
As the youngest of five children, David had a spirited personality that shone through in both his personal and professional interactions. Those who knew him often fondly reminisced about his youthful exuberance and playful nature, which earned him the endearing title of being a bit of a "brat." His childhood antics left a lasting impression on his family, reminding them of the joy of laughter shared among siblings.
David was a devoted family man, cherished by his wife, Michelle Barfield, and his four children: Angel, Michael, Josh, and Ryan. His love for them was unwavering, and he took great pride in being an active and supportive figure in their lives. The bonds he created with each of them are a testament to his character and dedication as a father and husband.
He is survived by his father, Robert Barfield; his brother, Robert Barfield, Jr.; and his sisters, Teresa Barfield and Sherri Sumner, and 12 grandchildren Together, they will carry forward the cherished memories of David, holding onto the lessons he taught through love, laughter, and perseverance in the face of life's challenges.
David’s enthusiasm extended beyond his professional life; he enjoyed Mudd bogging, a pursuit that allowed him to embrace adventure and excitement, further exemplifying his zest for life. His ability to appreciate the simple joys served as a reminder to those who knew him that life is best lived fully and with enthusiasm.
David is predeceased by his mother, Evelette Johnson Barfield, and his sister, Lynn Barfield. Their memories will always remain a part of David’s legacy, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we celebrate the life of David Edward Barfield, we remember a man whose kindness, humor, and love will forever echo in our hearts.
