David L. Bartusek, 57, of Waukee, IA formerly of Osage, IA passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at the Taylor House - UnityPoint Hospice in Des Moines, IA. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage. A celebration of life will follow from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., at the Osage Public Safety Center, located at 432 Main St. A graveside service will be held at a later date. David "Dave" was born on June 28, 1966 to Robert and Marlys (Hoskins) Bartusek in Mason City, IA. He graduated from Nora Springs High School in Nora Springs, IA with the class of 1984. He attended North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City, IA for a year playing baseball. Dave met his beautiful wife and best friend Cindy (Johnson) in Clear Lake, IA. They were married on August 20, 1988 in Osage. To this marriage they were blessed with three children; Trevor, Mackenzie, and Shae. Dave was a family man and loved being a Dad and Grandpa more than anything. You could always find Dave spending time with family and friends boating in Clear Lake. He also enjoyed tailgating and cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones and the Minnesota Vikings. Dave was very social and would do anything for his friends and family, everyone who knew him loved him. He will truly be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Bartusek, three children; Trevor Bartusek, Mackenzie (Johnny) Mahoney, Shae Bartusek, one grandson, Declan Mahoney, one sister, Denise (Mike) Rottinghaus, three nephews; Jim and Brandon Rottinghaus, Austin Bartusek, one aunt, Shirley Suby, mother-in-law, sister-in-law's, brother-in-law's and many nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dennis Bartusek.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family.
