George J. Bartusek, age 67, a resident of Naperville, IL since 2007, formerly of Cicero, IL, San Diego and San Pedro, CA, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at StoryPoint in Bolingbrook, IL. George remained courageous and optimistic throughout his almost 3-year battle with cancer. He was born on April 2, 1957, in Oak Park, IL.
Devoted son of the late George J. and Lorraine C. (nee Mashek) Bartusek, adored brother of Joan (Larry) Geis of Bolingbrook, IL and Jeanne Bartusek of Aurora, IL, dear uncle of Lisa (Brian) DiCristofano and Christine Geis, great-uncle of Staci, Tim, the late Stephanie DiCristofano and Kaitlyn "Katie" Kwak, fond cousin, co-worker and friend of many.
George grew up in Cicero, attended Our Lady of Charity Grade School and J. Sterling Morton High School East. George was employed as a journeyman mold maker, toolmaker, and machinist for many years, most recently with Moldtronics Inc. in Downers Grove, IL.
George was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and was proud of being twenty years sober. George loved sailing, fishing, hiking, and found joy in all nature has to offer us. And most of all, he truly loved spending time with his family and friends. He was also an avid reader and especially enjoyed science fiction.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, 10:00-11:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Community, 2003 Hassert Blvd. (corner of 111th St. & Book Rd.), Naperville, IL 60564.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, 11:00 AM at the church.
Interment will follow at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Naperville.
