1964-2025
Sunrise Beach, Missouri- David Lyle Bates, 61, formerly of Cameron, Missouri passed away unexpectedly on December 17, 2025. He was born January 10, 1964 to Lyle and Martha (Burton) Bates.
David graduated from Cameron High School in 1982 and worked as a carpenter until the time of his death.
A loving father, grandfather and friend. He was a skilled craftsman, always willing to help anyone out with a project. The product of his work was always admirable, meticulous, and of high praise. David was an avid Chief's fan, and enjoyed watching football games with his son, Kyle. He loved to travel the country when not working, taking the longer drive to sight see the mountains and natural attractions the western part of the country offered.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and son, Cory.
Survivors: son, Kyle (Marisa) Lund, Kansas City, Missouri; twin granddaughters, Kollins and Kenna; siblings, Deanna (Steve) Spear, of Arizona, Debbie Bates, Kearney, Missouri. Darren (Patty) Bates, Cameron, Missouri, Doug Bates; and loved one, Paget Lund, Gladstone, Missouri.
Services; 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Poland-Thompson Chapel.
Visitation one hour prior, 10:00 am - 11:00 am.
Burial in Cameron Memory Gardens.
