A Celebration of Life for David Baxter, age 73, of Ore City, Texas, will take place at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025, in the chapel of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City. Graveside services will be at a later date at Ore City Cemetery, under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Ore City.
Mr. Baxter passed away on June 16, 2025, at a hospital in Longview, Texas. He was born on October 26, 1951, in Pittsburg, Texas, to the late C.M. and Bernice Baxter.
David proudly served his country as a Navy veteran. A man of many passions, he found joy in the outdoors as an avid fisherman and golfer. He also had a deep love for animals, always showing kindness and care to his beloved companions.
He is survived by his children: Jeff Baxter and Carrie Clark, Tim Baxter and wife Tori, and daughter April Soloman. David was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Destini Carpenter and husband Bobby, Zach Thomlinson, Sierra Soloman, Callie Baxter, Tanner Baxter, and Journey Baxter. He is also survived by his brothers Charlie Baxter, Mark Baxter, and Chris Baxter, his brother-in-law Tommy and wife Judith Homer, along with numerous other relatives and cherished friends.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sharon Baxter; his grandson, Austin Thomlinson; and his parents, C.M. and Bernice Baxter.
David Baxter will be remembered for his generous heart, his service to his country, and the love he shared with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
