David (Dave) Roy Bentley passed into the presence of his Savior Jesus Christ on August 24, 2025, at the age of 79, with his wife of 61 years, Alice Faye (Gardner) Bentley and family by his side.
It was Dave’s desire that his professional accolades/accomplishments not be listed. He gave glory to God for calling him to teach The Word of God, by presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ and for the privilege of being His servant. He loved his family, and had a burning burden for the Church of Jesus Christ. He gave all Glory to God for His Faithfulness, His Mercy, His Grace, and for the Life of Jesus that saved him: Romans 5:10 (KJV) For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. The emphasis of his ministry was teaching the Gospel of Jesus and Him Crucified:
1 Corinthians 1:23 (KJV)
But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness. All Glory to God. Amen.
2Timothy 2:1-4 (KJV)
1. Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is Christ Jesus. 2. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. 3. Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4. No man warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
Dave is survived by his wife Alice, his children Jill (Michael) Christian, David (Tera) Bentley, Judith (Michael) Whisman, Isaac (Melissa) Bentley, grandchildren Gary (Jessica) Galat, Stephen (Gary) Whisman, Alison (Colin) Cassiday, Brianna (Nick) Morris, Hope (Jordan) Ferguson, Isabella (Adolfo) Merino-Romano, Grace Whisman, Faith (Logan) Murray, Isaac Bentley, Jacob Bentley, and great grandchildren Bentley Burley, Joseph Galat, Charlotte Lien, Emma Cassiday, Lucas Merino-Romano, Rosalie Ferguson, Adolfo Merino-Romano, and many nieces, nephews, and many disciples to carry the Truth of Jesus and His sacrifice.
