David W. Beynon, Jr., 83, of Sherrills Ford, North Carolina, formerly of Pennsylvania, New York, and Massachusetts passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025.
He is survived by his son, Michael, and daughter-in-law, Michele; three grandchildren, Heather DeCesare (Alex), Carl DeCesare (Taylor); Evan Smith; and three great-grandchildren, Brayden (10), Avery (8), and Grace (4). He was predeceased by the love of his life, Carole Beynon, and his sons, Marc Beynon and infant David Beynon.
Born in
Dunmore, Pennsylvania, on November 4, 1941, David spent his career with Conrail starting in customer service and ultimately as a trainer for those computer systems, moving several times to locations including Syracuse, NY; Milford, MA; Clifton Park, NY; and finally Pittsburgh, PA. He loved his work and took great pride in helping his students graduate from each class.
After moving to North Carolina six years ago, David lived with his son Michael and daughter-in-law Michele, where he enjoyed visits from his grandchildren, the beauty of the lake, watching the boats and wildlife, especially his favorite hummingbirds. He also became a regular at the local Seniors Morning Out program, which he initially resisted but soon grew to love, attending four days a week and making wonderful friendships and memories there.
David served for many years as the historian of the Beynon Family Reunion, an annual August tradition that began in 1970. He was a skilled craftsman and handyman who took pride in his home and yard, always ready to take on any project. He had a special devotion to his late wife, Carole, showering her with jewelry, flowers, and thoughtful surprises. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home that reflected their love and care.
David and Carole enjoyed traveling across the United States and abroad with Michael and Michele, exploring new places and sharing laughter and stories wherever they went. After Carole's passing, David continued those travels with them, creating cherished memories.
He loved playing cards and board games and was excellent at trivia. Known for his quick wit and sense of humor, David always had a clever comeback ready. He also enjoyed relaxing with his favorite TV shows and game shows, which brought him comfort and entertainment.
David will be remembered for his humor, resourcefulness, and love for his family.
Viewing hours will be held on Sunday, November 9, from 2–4 p.m., with a memorial service to follow, at Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, 318 E Drinker St,
