David Alan Bishop

David Alan Bishop, 79, passed away Thursday, October 16th, 2025, at IU Health in Bloomington. David was born in Harvey, Illinois to Wayne and Dorothy Bishop on July 23, 1946. David graduated from Thorton High School in his hometown before attending Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. David worked for Ameritech, now known as AT&T for 25 years. David and his beloved, Mariann moved to Bloomington in 1992. Wearer of many hats, David was also a mathematics teacher for a period of time; all prior to becoming an accountant and opening his own firm. David was the founder of Bishop Accounting Services LLC. He also was passionate about exploring Indiana, taking in the Brown County scenery, accomplishing "Honey do list" and tending to his property, and loved his friends and family. David was a history buff and on occasion with some aid from some liquid courage could "cut a mean rug".
David was preceded in death by both parents and his daughter Michelle, and is survived by his wife Mariann, Son Michael, Stepsons Kevin, and Brian, and his brother Wayne. In addition to six grandchildren, Joshua, Ryan, Nathaniel. Laura, Max and Zachary.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to plant a tree in David's honor.
Visitation will take place at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory, Friday, October 24, 2025. The ceremony will begin at 1pm and conclude at 3pm. Cremation rites will take place thereafter.
