David T. Bogenschutz, 63, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born in Fort Wayne, David served his country as a Marine and retired after 28 years in Banking. He was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church. David coached the St. Joe Soccer League for many years. He enjoyed fishing, painting, collecting antiques, and watching New York Yankees, and Green Bay Packers. He loved his family and cherished his time with his grandchildren, Conner, Drew, and Maddie. Surviving are his loving wife of 40 years, Bonnie, father, Thomas Bogenschutz, children, Brian (Jodi) Bogenschutz of Fort Wayne, Sara (Andy) Griewank of Indianapolis, siblings, Barb (Dave) Pisula, Steve (Thea) Bogenschutz, Mary (Matt) Lindsay, Martha (Yemeru) Kebede, Tim Bogenschutz, Michelle (Steve) Ludwiski all of Fort Wayne, 19 nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ellen Bogenschutz. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am, Monday, August 12, 2013 at St. Jude Catholic Church with calling one hour prior, Fr. Robert D'Souza officiating. Calling at D.O. McComb and Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue Sunday, August 11, 2013 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm with a Rosary Service at 3:30 pm. Remembering Dave from high school, football games, homecomings. Then later as chance meetings through the years. Always a kind word for others, a gentleman. I am sure you will miss him terribly. Know that many others of us will too. My deepest sympathies as you bear this sorrow.

Dave was one of the fastest running backs we had on our Central Catholic football team in 1967-1968. My pleasure Dave, was looking forward to seeing you at the next class reunion.
