David A Borasky

David Borasky, Sr., of Hilton Head, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025 with his wife by his side.

David was born in Syracuse, New York on December 5, 1946 to George and Mary Borasky. He grew up on the west side of Syracuse – Skunk City – and attended Vocational High School.

David is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Margaret (Maggie) and his children David Jr (Danielle) of Durham, NC, Christina, of Bluffton, SC and Jeffrey (Lauren) of Bluffton, SC and grandchildren Austin, Anna, Thomas, Isabelle and Owen. He is also survived by his sister Deborah Lane of Syracuse, NY and brother Edward of Chesapeake, VA as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Gordon, Paul, George, Daniel, Walter and sister Mary.

David made a career in fire protection, building multiple fire sprinkler companies in the Syracuse area for over 20 years. In 1996, having endured 50 Syracuse winters, David and Maggie moved to Hilton Head. This is where he started Fire Tech Services, while also becoming an avid golfer. He was a lifelong fan of Syracuse University sports and was always cheering on the Orange. In retirement, he enjoyed organizing weekly golf outings with friends and hoisting a cold beverage afterwards to celebrate another great round.

A celebration will be held in the coming weeks, details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations honoring David can be made to Pockets full of Sunshine (https://www.pocketsfullofsun.org/) and St. Jude's (https://stjude.org), causes that were close to Dad's heart.
