David Braun, 69, of Cheyenne, WY, passed away peacefully Friday evening, May 24, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. David was born on April 2, 1955 to Richard "Emerson" Braun and Carol June Carver Braun. He grew up in Ohio with 7 siblings (Richard Braun, Gary Braun, Stephen Braun, Danial McClure, Carla Peter, Shane McClure, and Tammy Erdman). He was preceded in death by his father Emerson, and brother Stephen. He is survived by his mother Carol McClure, his wife, and 6 of his siblings. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Frances, for over 30 years. David was a father, stepfather, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, and generous friend. Dave's legacy is one of service and kindness, he was always willing to help others.

Born on April 2, 1955, David served honorably in the United States Army before dedicating over 30 years to the Department of Veterans Affairs. His retirement in 2021 marked the end of a distinguished career, but his commitment to service and helping others continued.

Dave had a passion and skill for rehabbing cars, and he was often found in his driveway, garage, or at his friends' homes helping them with repairs on their cars. His mechanical skills and willingness to assist others were well-known and deeply appreciated. Dave's friends remember him as a man of few words, a skilled mechanic, very knowledgeable, and always on the lookout for parts to fix someone's car.

A Memorial service for Dave will be held on June 24th, 2024, 11:00 AM, at the Schrader Funeral Home Chapel, Cheyenne, Wyoming

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in David's name to Veterans' Rock (307) 514-0035.
