David A. Brewster of Ft. Wright, KY, passed away at St. Elizabeth Healthcare on Friday, March 17, 2023. David was born in West Virginia on January 12, 1936 to the late Elva Brewster and Arnold Bruffey. He was adopted by Elva's subsequent husband, Roland Brewster. David was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Lilian (Boyd) Little; sister, Jeanie (Dale) McDaniel of Washington, D.C.; brother, Darole (Mavis) and nephew, Roland Darole of Maryland. Survivors include sisters, Janet of West Virginia, Nancy Martin (Jerry) of West Virginia; brother, Dennis (Denise) of North Carolina. He is also survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Phyllis (nee Martin); son, Todd Eric (Elizabeth), and grandson, Jackson David of Columbus, OH.
He was proud of his service in the Navy and his graduation from the University of Kentucky.
He was retired after 35 years with IBM. His move to Cincinnati involved employment with U.S. Shoe, Baldwin Piano and several Indiana Casinos as a consultant. David loved reading and animals, evidenced by his many pets over the years.
A private celebration of life by friends and family will be held later in the Spring. Memorial donations can be made in David's name to the Kenton County Humane Society, or Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675 (www.woundedwarriorproject.org ).
