David William Brewton of Bluffton, SC, born August 17th, 1945, in Hampton County, SC, passed away on August 27th, 2024. In June of 1966, David graduated from Estill High School and also earned his Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Southern Technical Institute of Marietta, GA. He became a dive charter boat captain in 1987 and was well known for his work in architectural drafting and design. David had a passion for music and loved to play and collect guitars, banjos, mandolins, and many other stringed instruments. He also had a passion for buying and collecting guns, painting landscapes, and building boat models.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Layton Brewton and Will Ena DeLoach Brewton, his brother, Kenneth Brewton Jr., and is survived by his partner of 40 years Linda O. Carter of Clover, SC, her daughter Tracy Carter of Clover, SC, her late son James Carter of Bluffton, SC, her granddaughter Rachael Hutcheson of Eugene, Oregon, his daughter, Shannon "Michelle" Fouch of Bluffton, SC, her sons Jason Kyle Fouch and his two children of Bluffton, SC, Justin Kody Fouch of Bluffton, SC, Jennifer Kaitlin Fouch and her two children of West Virginia, Jordan Kelsey Fouch of Georgia, his son John (Johnny) Michael Brewton (Elizabeth (Beth Nicola) Smith) of Bluffton, SC, his daughter, Karen Hillary Brewton (Trey Whisenant) Columbia, SC, his step sons, Richard Nicola (Sierra) of Bluffton, SC, R. Armand Smith and step daughter Rebecca Smith of Grays, SC., sister in law Barbara Dyal Brewton (Kenneth Brewton Jr.) and their daughters, Jan B. Rose (Dr. Walter Rose) and Joy B. Cook (Dr. Greg Cook)
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
