David Allen Browning, age 67, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at home on August 15, 2025, after a short but courageous battle with esophageal cancer with his loving wife, Sandi, by his side.

David was born in Beech Grove, IN on November 4, 1957, to his parents, Donald E. and Joan M. (Kattman) Browning. He was a 1976 graduate of Southport High School, where he lettered in football. He attended IUPU Indianapolis then went on to earn an Associate Degree in Electronics from IVY Tech in Indianapolis.

While attending college, David began working part-time at United Parcel Service (UPS) in Indianapolis, loading trucks. That job turned into a remarkable 46-year career with UPS as a driver and devoted member of Teamsters Local Union #135, retiring in May of 2024.

David was never one to sit still. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends-whether attending the Indy 500, fishing, boating, or traveling with his wife, he always embraced life fully. He will be remembered as a generous loving father & grandfather. He was a positive, motivated person who was genuinely interested in others' lives-but also never missed a chance to share his recent adventures. After retirement, he was thrilled to spend the winter months in their camper in the Florida Keys, and up the Florida Gulf Coast making many new friends and was already planning their next adventure.

David will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra "Sandi" M. (Pruse) Cleaver-Browning; his father, Donald E. Browning of Myrtle Beach, SC; his children, Megan Browning of Indianapolis and Jason "J.B." Browning of Greenwood; stepchildren, Kyle (Meredith) Cleaver of Indianapolis, Heather (Mike) Wiley of Noblesville, and Lauren (David) Byrum of Westfield; siblings, Daniel Lee (Cheri) Browning of Argos, Donna Ann Dugan of Greenwood, and Deborah Lynn Browning of Calabash, NC; grandchildren, Braylen Mitchell Allen Gilpin, Liam and Grayson Wiley, Ella and Griffin Cleaver, Arwen, Daphne, and Wesley Byrum.

Also surviving is his best friend and fishing buddy, Charlie Williams of Indianapolis; brother-in-law, Bill Meredith of Morgantown; sisters-in-law, Cheryel (Mark) Greulich of Richmond, Cathy (Vince) Ramos of Indian Rocks Beach, FL, and Georgiann Wei of Ithaca, NY; brother-in-law, Doug Snodgress (Nitza) of Warsaw, IN, and many nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Joan M. Browning; his first wife of 28 years and mother of his children, Beth Ann (Chupp) Browning; his maternal grandparents, William and Irene Kattman; paternal grandparents, E. Allen and Dorothy Browning; sister-in-law's, Mary Susan Meredith and Barbara Snodgress; and brother-in-law's, Thomas Martin Dugan, William F. Robbins and Dr. Wen Wei.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 19th from 10 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Highmark Church, 9959 E 126th St. in Fishers, IN. Followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. conducted by Pastor Don Champion. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown, IN.
