David was born on January 3, 1945, in Morgantown, West Virginia, to Edward Bruno and Emma (Scafella) Bruno. He graduated from Central Union High School in Fresno, California, in 1963. Shortly after graduation, he proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving his country from September 9, 1963, to September 8, 1967. During his tenure, he was assigned to the 320th Bomb Wing under Strategic Air Command (SAC) and was honorably discharged with the rank of Senior Airman, having completed his service with distinction.

Following his military service, David returned to Fresno, California, where he worked alongside his father and brothers in the family electrical business. In the 1980s, he established his own electrical contracting company, which he operated successfully for more than 40 years until his retirement in 2009. In addition to his work as an electrical contractor, David was a licensed real estate agent and sold properties in Fresno, California, as well as in McAlester, Oklahoma.

On May 11, 2005, David married Jean Nanney in Madera, California. Together, they later made their home in Oklahoma in the early 2000s.

David was known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and dedication to his craft. He took great pride in his work and was respected for his reliability and skill. In his leisure time, he enjoyed collecting books and reading. He was a devoted member of Tannehill Free Will Baptist Church and a 32nd Degree Mason, maintaining active membership in the Masonic Lodge.

David will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

David was preceded in death by his father and mother, Edward Bruno and Emma (Scafella) Bruno; brothers, Charles Bruno, George Bruno, and Gary Bruno; an infant son, David Allen Bruno, Jr.; and an infant daughter, Diane Elizabeth Bruno.

David is survived by his wife, Jean Bruno of the home; sons, Dennis Bruno of California, Dustin Bruno of South Dakota; daughters, Tina Cates and Kristy Jelaminio, both of Arizona; a brother, Edward Bruno of California; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; along with numerous other family members and friends.
