Services for David E. Burdette, 69, of Madison, formerly of Willoughby, will be at 7 PM on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
The family will receive friends and family from 4-7 PM on Friday, prior to the service.
David passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 9, 2026.
Born June 17, 1956 in Parkersburg, WV, he was a longtime Willoughby resident before moving to Madison eight years ago. He was a graduate of Willoughby South High School, class of 1975.
He enjoyed cars shows, restoring cars, especially his 1955 Chevrolet Bel-Air, tinkering with anything with a motor, collecting guns, knives and pocket watches, fishing in the back pond at the family farm, attending swap meets and most especially taking a nap in his rocking chair, spending time with his grandchildren and playing Hot Wheels with his youngest grandson, Rip David.
David was a retired machinist.
Survivors are his wife of 35 years, Vicki (Mix) Burdette; children, Jeremy (Krista) Ambrose, Christopher (Hannah) Ambrose and Samantha (Michael) Hutchinson; grandchildren, Tiffany, Trinity, Montana, Mackenzie, Braydon, Malachi, Aly, Aeryn, Xander, Cameron, Gannon and Rip David. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clella and Garnet (Haynes). His brother, Archie Burdette and sister, Judy Carlisle are also deceased.
