David Lee Calley, 72, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on June 15, 2025, in Springfield.
Born on November 1, 1952, in Guthrie Center, Iowa, David was the son of Rex and Georgene (Hammond) Calley. He grew up with his brothers Steve, Doug, Todd, Edward, and Ken, all of whom preceded him in passing. David later moved to Missouri with his family and attended Ozark High School in Ozark.
A dedicated and hardworking man throughout his life, David built a career at Springfield Freightliner and Mack Trucks. His strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family were hallmarks of his character.
David found joy in the simple pleasures of life-spending time with his loved ones, going on family drives, dining out together, and traveling. These moments created lasting memories that will be cherished by those who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine (Spence) Calley; his daughter, Amanda Lea Calley; his son, Cory Dean Calley; and step-mother, Geraldine Calley. He also leaves behind extended family members and friends who will remember him with affection.
Graveside services will be held at Hensley Cemetery in Mansfield, Missouri. Date and time will be announced.
Care has been entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd. – DeGraffenreid-Wood Crematory in Springfield, Missouri.
