He was born on November 22, 1953 in Pearl, IL to John Thomas Carter and Mable (McBrian) Carter.
David married Debbie Decker in Granite City on July 10, 1993.
The loving husband and father enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting and fishing. He was also known for playing horseshoes.
Besides his wife, David is survived by a daughter, Vicki Carter of Granite City; 2 sons: John (Jennifer) Sappington of Bethalto, IL and David Jr (Ariel) Carter of Carterville, MO; 6 grandchildren with one on the way; several great grandchildren and a brother, Gary (Sandy) Carter of Granite City.
David is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bobby Carter.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory in Granite City, IL.
