Dr. David Cattell PhD

Dr. David Cattell, of Haddon Township, NJ, passed away at the age of 76, on June 9, 2025, after a short illness. Dr. Cattell was the son of Naomi Putnam Cattell and Frank Banks Cattell.
Raised in Camden, NJ, Dr. Cattell was a professor of physics for 38 years at Community College of Philadelphia. He served as the Physics Department Chair from 1996 until his retirement in 2023.
A graduate of Drexel University (B.S.) and Temple University (M.A.), he achieved his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Physics from Temple University. He was particularly proud of his teaching accomplishments at both CCP and Drexel University, creating curriculum revisions which integrated computer-aided methods into Physics Department courses. He wrote and initiated course revisions which introduced the use of industry-wide standard workstation computers for engineering design, problem solving and data acquisition.
Predeceased by his parents, brother William D. Wild and sister Helen Brusco, Dr. Cattell is survived by a niece and several nephews, as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family extends thanks to the doctors and staff at Cooper Medical Center, Laurel Brook Rehabilitation and Vitality Hospice Services for their efforts and kindness to Dr. Cattell.
