David Harry Chmielewski of Lakeville, MN passed away unexpectedly in his home on his 75th Birthday. David was born in Toledo, OH on 8/12/50 to Harry and Mardell Chmielewski and was the 3rd of 4 children. He attended St. Frances DeSales High School (Toledo) and Ohio State University (Columbus, OH). David was employed for most of his adult life as a laboratory technician in the Dept. of Medicine at the University of MN supporting medical research. After he retired, he was an active volunteer at the MN Raptor Center for many years and had a special interest in birds. He was also an avid gardener and golfer (with both the Lakeville Heritage Center and at the University of MN Men's Club) His is survived by his brothers Donald and Leonard Chmielewski. David leaves behind 3 children: David Chmielewski Jr. (Kim), Sean Bartels (Missy) and Michelle Anderson (Jim) along with 4 grandchildren: Nicholas Chmielewski, Alaina Chmielewski, Cameron Anderson and Dalton Anderson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Linda Chmielewski, his parents Harry and Mardell and recently by his sister Beverly. A September memorial service is being planned, with further details posted to this site when available.
