David M. Christy

DAVID M. CHRISTY David M. Christy, Leawood, KS passed away Aug. 27, 2011 at his home. A proud Marine, David's entire professional career was in banking, a profession he cherished. He spent most of his career primarily with the Goppert family. David came from a musical family and from the age of 16 sang in church choirs, which he loved immensely. His favorite place on earth was Maui, Hawaii. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Palmer Christy, his sister, Lenore Melenyzer, San Antonio, TX, daughter-in-law, Virginia L. Christy and 2 grandchildren, Sean and Carrie Christy all of K.C., MO. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Ron M. Christy, his 2 brothers, Eugene and Robert Christy, 2 nephews, Charles Christy and Andrew Pye, his niece, Laura Bauer. David was a member of Red Bridge United Methodist Church and the church choir. He was also a member of the Goppert Foundation. The family will receive friends Wednesday night, Aug. 31st, from 6-8 pm at Red Bridge U. Methodist Church, 117th & Holmes, K.C., MO. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 1st, at 11 am at the church. Sharon wants to thank Dr. Richard Morgan, Grace Hospice, and the members of the Robert Frazier family for their love and support.
