David Cochran Obituary

DOVER – David L. Cochran, 75, entered into rest at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at his home. He was the loving husband of Donna D. (Walker) Cochran. The couple celebrated 42 years of marriage on October 8, 2024.
Born December 17, 1949 in Dover, he was a son of the late R. Nelson and Dorothy R. (Lightner) Cochran.
Dave graduated from Dover Area High School in 1967 and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He owned and operated Dave's Shoe Repair in Dover for over 50 years.
Dave was a member of Shiloh American Legion Post 791; Dover Fish & Game; Harbold's Camper Club; Dover High School Alumni Association; and a lifetime member of the NRA. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting.
In addition to his wife, Dave is survived by two daughters, Debra Cochran and Jody Cochran, both of Dover; two sisters; a brother; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend David's funeral at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 N. Queen St., Dover. There will be viewings at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery. Officiating will be the Reverend Bonnie J. Whittier, pastor of Christ U.C.C. in Jefferson.

Dave was one very talented guy, a real leather artist. He gave new life to many a pair of shoes, zippers in coats and other leather items that I had. He was a great guy and I am glad I knew him for the many years that I did. My sympathy to all family and friends.
