On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, David A. Coldren, Sr., age 75 passed away peacefully at home with his loving and caring wife by his side. David and Barbara were married for 52 blissful years. She was his primary caregiver.
David was a very humble, modest man, not known to brag or boast. He proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army infantry during the Vietnam War and was the recipient of a Three Purple Heart Cluster and multiple other awards during his time in the military.
David was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Stella Coldren, a brother, Leroy Coldren and a sister, Nancy Sahady.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara J. (Pillar) Coldren, his sons David Coldren, Jr. and his wife, Marla and Ted Coldren and his wife, Melissa, along with the pride and joy of his life, his grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth and Ian Lucas Coldren, whom he adored. His siblings: Sandy (Homer) McCabe, Margaret "Peggy" (Dan) Skala, Robert Coldren, Daniel Coldren, Linda (Jim) Jellick, and a sister-in-law, Nancy Coldren.
The family would like to thank the nurses, nurses aides and Pastor Ken from Amedisys, Twin Oaks Home Care and Father Kyprian Wojciechowski.
Visitation will be at Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext. Uniontown on Monday from 2-8 PM, The ALA Unit 753 of New Salem will hold a service at 6:45 PM; Parastas Service at 7 PM in the funeral Home. Tuesday Panachida Service at 9:15 AM followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. John The Baptist Byzantine Church, 185 E. Main St. Uniontown at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Mt. St. Macrina Cemetery with full military honors accorded. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions to St. John Byzantine Church in David's memory.
