David Couchman Obituary
David Lee Couchman, Sr., 78, Gas City, passed away at 8:45 am on Thursday, January 15, 2026. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Saturday, November 22, 1947, to Charles and Minnie (Goodpasture) Couchman. On October 25, 1968, he married Wilma Wilson. He was a material handler at Gen Corp and enjoyed attending Jalapa Freewill Baptist Church. He loved tinkering and could fix anything. David loved his family, especially his grandchildren. After he retired, he enjoyed looking after his grandchildren and helping his son.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Couchman of Gas City; son, David Lee (Debra) Couchman, Jr.; grandson, David Jordan (Sydney) Couchman; and great-grandsons, Dayton Couchman, and Rhett Couchman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Minnie Couchman; and his son, Andrew Couchman.
The family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St, Gas City, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate David's life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
