David Creese Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McHoul Funeral Home, Inc. - Hopewell Junction on Mar. 11, 2024.
David C. Creese, 66, a longtime resident of Wingdale, passed away on March 8, 2024 at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Dave was born on January 10, 1958, in Butler, Pennsylvania to the late Kenneth and Katherine (Reno) Creese. Dave studied at Surge Technical School in Illinois.
On April 26, 1980, Dave married the love of his life, Heidi Kohlmaier. Together they built a family and a life filled with love and laughter. He is survived by his wife, along with his daughter, Heather Creese-Monheit and her husband, Daniel; his son, David J. Creese; his daughter, Kimberly Jamison; his grandchildren, David and Thomas Creese, and Janell Jamison; his siblings and their spouses, Margie and Shane Rhoades, Linda Schirra, Rick and Gayle Creese; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Karin McGraw, Inge and Gary Beard, Heinz and Cindy Kohlmaier; dozens of nieces and nephews; and the Camping Crew and Metzger Crew. In addition to his parents, Dave was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth Creese; his sister-in-law, Nora Taylor; and his brother-in-law, Norbert Kohlmaier.
Dave happily retired from Montrose VA as a heavy equipment operator in 2021. Prior, he worked as a foreman for the Metzger Construction Company. Known lovingly as "Farmer Dave", he had a passion for gardening and devoted his free time to Community Sponsored Agriculture, cultivating produce and selling it at local farmers markets. Any leftover produce Dave kindly donated to the Center of Compassion Food Pantry in Dover. Dave loved to give back to the community, especially the VFW and Boy Scouts. An avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, he enjoyed spending his Sunday afternoons watching football with his family. Well established as the family chef, Thanksgiving will never be the same without him!
Dave was a firm believer in giving back to others. Through organ donation, he was able to give two blind people the gift of sight.
Calling hours will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 12pm-3pm with a memorial service starting at 3pm.
Memorial donations may be made to the Center of Compassion Food Pantry or a veteran's charity of one's choice.
