David John “Diggity” Crespo, Jr., 45, of Niles, died Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
His life began April 1, 1980 in Niles, Michigan the oldest of three children born to David Sr. and Tracy Crespo.
David John attended East Side Elementary and Ring Lardner, where he made many life long friends. He was a creative, kind soul. He had a passion for music; writing, playing, and singing with his guitar. He was an avid artist, particularly drawing and writing poetry. He was a great cook; cooking and baking from scratch. He was a huge fan of Kurt Cobain. David John loved riding motorcycles. He was a Chicago Bears fanatic. He enjoyed animals and had a soft spot for German Shepards. He and Juan enjoyed playing horseshoes and tubing down the creek as a pastime.
David John will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his father, David J. Crespo, Sr. of Niles; sister, Kateasha Crespo of Niles; brother, Dillon Crespo of Niles; grandfathers, Juan Crespo of Puerto Rico, Marty Liggett of Niles; aunts, Kelly (Wayne) Maxwell of Niles, Marci Katzenberger of South Bend, Indiana, Linda Warren of Niles; nieces and nephews, Dakota, Denny, Abbyrose, Aubriana, Annabelle, Ainsley; cousins, Toni Marie, Cali, Wyatt; and bestfriend and cousin, Little Juan Crespo of Niles.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Tracy M. Crespo; grandmothers, Diane Liggett, Ludean Crespo; aunt, Carmen Gwusha; and uncle, Tony Crespo.
Family and friends will gather from 4:00 pm until time of service at 6:00 pm Thursday, September 18, 2025 in Halbritter Wickens Funeral Services, 615 East Main Street, Niles.
