Halbritter Wickens Funeral ServicesLarry August Neumann, 78, of Mishawaka, Indiana, died peacefully November 14, 2025, after battling dementia for several years.
Larry was born April 30, 1947, in Niles, Michigan, to Elton and Elizabeth Neumann. Larry retired in 2011 after working as an accountant for 1st Source Bank for over 20 years. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church where he filled multiple roles and loved singing in the choir. Larry graduated with the class of 1965 from Brandywine Highschool. Following high school he served as a medic for the U.S. Army and is a veteran of Vietnam. He was a member of the American Kennel Club where he showed prize winning dogs, which led to him become, co-owner of Acorn Hill Kennels, where he raised St. Bernards. He also served as Milton Township treasurer for multiple years. Larry enjoyed cooking, traveling, singing and helping people.
On June 10, 1972 at Our Lady of Hungary in South Bend IN, he married Sharon Kay Gerschoffer, who survives. Also surviving, his brother Gary Neumann; two daughters Mary Rayner (Jay Hart) of Lagrange IN and Sarah (Robert) Vreden of Niles MI; three grandchildren, Brandon (Kaila), Timothy and Laura; and a great grandson Hunter.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 9 South 4th Street, Niles, on Saturday November 22nd, at 10:00 a.m.
