David Dach Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McCorkle Funeral Home - Rockton on Mar. 29, 2024.
David B. Dach, age 62, of Rockton, IL died Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at his home after a long courageous battle with cancer with his loving wife by his side. David was born November 7, 1961 in Rockford, IL, the son of the late Herbert and Martha G. (Struven) Dach. David graduated from Dakota High School and attended Highland Community College for auto mechanics. He married Patsy Abels on April 23, 1988 at Rockton United Methodist Church.
David was truly a man who had a deep Christian faith and knew without a doubt he would spend eternity with Jesus Christ his personal savior. David worked for Mallard Ridge Landfill as a heavy equipment mechanic for 34 years before retiring in 2019. Fishing and playing cards with his family was something he dearly enjoyed. David was blessed with the ability to fix most anything and was always ready and willing to help anyone with home improvement projects. He enjoyed working on cars and sharing his knowledge of fishing with people that were interested in honing their skills. David was always taking care of people and was a true testament of a loving and caring person who would literally take the shirt off his back and give it to anyone who needed it. He always looked forward to fishing with friends and family in Crandon, WI, Crivitz, WI and Spooner, WI. David had a good sense of humor which was appreciated by people who were having a cup of coffee with him or while enjoying a large breakfast with his brother. He and Patsy found great pleasure in taking road trips exploring new areas and stopping along the way to try new restaurants. David loved taking his beloved Pug, Petey, along on adventures, whether it be fishing, road trips or just a trip to visit with friends and family.
David is survived by his wife, Patsy; sisters, Sharon (Ed) Larson, Pat (Dave) Murphy; brother, Ralph (Mary) Dach; twin brother, Doug (Stacey) Dach; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. David is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Martha G. (Struven) Dach, special friend, Josie Mathys, niece, Laura Mary Dach, nephew, Troy Larson and numerous other loved ones he held dear.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCorkle Funeral Home - Rockton Chapel, 767 N. Blackhawk Blvd, Rockton, IL. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 11:00 a.m with Pastor Eric Lemonholm officiating. David will be laid to rest in Cranes Grove Cemetery in Baileyville, IL. A memorial will be established.
