David Reuben Damesworth, known affectionately as Dave, passed away on June 12, 2024, at the age of 59 in Nashville, TN at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, due to complications of the lung cancer he had been battling. Born on September 8, 1964, in Michigan, he is remembered as a forthright and humorous individual who deeply cared for animals and made a significant impact on the lives of those around him.
Throughout his life, Dave was employed in various roles, demonstrating his hardworking nature. Before his illness, he worked at a local sawmill and as a farmhand, where he was well-regarded by his colleagues for his dedication and strong work ethic.
Dave's personal life was enriched by his hobbies which included hunting, fishing, and watching his favorite sports, hockey and baseball. He cherished the time spent with his friends and family, creating lasting memories with all.
He is survived by his daughters, Ashley Lenee Damesworth Hov and Jessica Nicole Maneti; sons-in-law, Loren Jens Hov II and David Maneti; four grandchildren, Warren Ruben Damesworth, Bryce Ashton Maneti, Zoey Jane Maneti, and Oliver Maneti; sisters, Barbara Corcoran and Jackie Damesworth; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Ruben Damesworth.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to help with cremation expenses.
Humphreys County Funeral Home in Waverly, TN, is assisting the family during this time. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
