David “Dave” Sonny Hall, 45, of Kathleen, GA, passed away surrounded by loved ones after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Born June 13, 1980, in Phenix City, Alabama, Dave was the son of David Wayne Hall and the late Shirley McCart Hall.
He graduated from Smiths Station High School in 1998 and went on to attend Auburn University—remaining a devoted Auburn Tiger fan for life.
Dave was a skilled tradesman who took pride in his work, especially electrical and HVAC. Over the years, he worked at many places, but his favorites were the time he spent at Fort Benning and Farris Construction. He was known for his work ethic, loyalty to his union brothers, and ability to fix just about anything.
More than anything, Dave loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Wilheit Hall; his daughters, Adyson Hughes (24) and Riley Hall (12), who were the lights of his life; his father, David Wayne Hall; and his sister, Katie Hall Dockerty (Jeremy). He also leaves behind a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many lifelong friends who will miss him deeply.
Dave had a big heart, a sharp sense of humor, and a presence that filled every room. He’ll be remembered for his loyalty, laughter, and love of fishing and Auburn football. A Celebration of Life is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
