David R. DelMastro Sr.

David R. DelMastro Sr., 80, of Windham passed away peacefully Thursday September 25, 2025 at home surrounded by family.

David was born on May 17, 1945 in Hartford, CT, the son of the lateVincent Sr. and Jeannette (Samuels) DelMastro. At the young age of 17, David went on to serve his country in the U.S Army and National Guard. He served in the Vietnam War and in Germany, making an enlistment of six years. Upon being honorably discharged, he discovered his passion of being a truck driver and volunteer firefighter. With many years of service, he eventually became a distinguished member of the Teamster's 559 and lifetime member of North Windham Volunteer Fire Department. He served as Commander of the American Legion Post 19 and was a life member of VFW Post 1724. He enjoyed sharing the many memories of his life experiences with family and friends while listening to country classics. He loved watching Nascar with his favorite driver being Dale Jarrett as well as old western shows.

He is survived by his children David DelMastro Jr and his wife Karen(Spaulding) of Mansfield, CT., Nicholas DelMastro and his girlfriend Carolyn Hetrick of Windham, CT; daughter in law Alyssa Delmastro of Colchester, John Trudeau and wife Kristy of North Carolina and David Trudeau. He also leaves behind 17 grandchildren and over 8 great

grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may visit on Thursday Oct 2, from 10AM to 12PM at Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St, Willimantic. Graveside services will follow at 1PM at the State Veterans Cemetery 317 Bow La, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The North Windham Volunteer Fire Dept. P .O.
