Frederick A. Damiani

Frederick (Fred) Damiani, 84, of Bristol, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, after a long illness. Born in New Haven on March 8, 1941, he was the son of the late B. Fred and Julia (Adinolfi) Damiani.

Fred is survived by his devoted partner of 25 years, Jeannette Varkal, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Robert Damiani and Richard Damiani.

Raised in New Haven, Fred graduated from St. Mary's High School before attending Tufts University in Boston. Following his studies, he proudly served four years in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Great Britain. After his military service, he was employed by the Federal Government until his retirement in 1995.

Fred and Jeannette shared a love of travel, often journeying by ship through the Mediterranean, North Africa, and the Middle East. They also enjoyed winters in West Palm Beach, Florida, where they appreciated the gardens, ocean vistas, and friendships with people from many different countries.

Fred will be remembered as a kind and humble man who never sought the spotlight but touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and loved ones.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, October 1st. 2025 at St. Matthew Church, 120 Church St, Forestville. Following the Mass Fred will be loving laid to rest with fellow comrades in the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors
