David J Dersch, age 85 of Mullica Hill, NJ, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025. Dave was born in Woodbury, NJ to the late John A. Dersch and Kathryn (nee Kafka). Dave grew up in Mt Royal and Clarksboro, NJ and graduated from Swedesboro High School Class of 1958. He married Barbara Iles on May 5, 1962, and had two children together. Dave worked for 33 years at DuPont Chambers Works in Deepwater, NJ where he was a carpenter and shop foreman.
Dave loved being outdoors in nature and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, gardening, and traveling the United States and Canada in his camper. He loved spending time with his family and was extremely proud of his grandchildren. Dave showed his love for God by using his carpentry skills at multiple churches to construct or enhance the buildings and facilities.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his son, Douglas Dersch & his wife, Jonna; his daughter, Susan Dersch-Stelzer & her husband, James; three grandchildren, Kathryn, Megan, and Jonathan Dersch; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dave was predeceased by his sister, Joan (Dersch) Stull & her husband, John.
Relatives and friends may visit from 9:30 am to 11:00 am on Monday, May 19th at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ. As an expression of sympathy, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
